All web hosting accounts are handled via a Control Panel and regardless of the brand of the latter, there's always a File Manager tool, which enables you to browse the files that you've uploaded in the website hosting account and to complete simple operations with them, such as moving, copying or deleting. With respect to the specific tool, there may be more complex features also, such as control over permissions and archives. Several Control Panels are simpler to use compared to others and so are their File Manager sections. Considering that this is the main tool that you will use to control your files, it is important to check in advance what options it comes with and if it will work for you, because a hard-to-use File Manager can be a burden and could make managing your web presence harder.

File Manager in Shared Website Hosting

The File Manager tool, that's a part of our in-house developed Hepsia CP, allows you to administer all of the files that you upload to your shared website hosting account effortlessly. You may move files and whole folders by dragging-and-dropping them in the account. You can upload content in the same manner - select a file/folder on your PC and drag it to your browser in which the File Manager is loaded. By right-clicking a file or a folder within your account, you can also access context menus with more advanced options - you'll be able to create or to unpack an archive, to create a password-protected area, to alter the UNIX permissions through a web interface or to modify the content with various editors without ever leaving the Control Panel – a plain text editor, a code editor or an HTML editor. We have also provided help articles and educational videos, which you may access from the File Manager to get more information about its features.

File Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our File Manager tool will enable you to do pretty much anything you require. It's a part of the Hepsia CP, provided with all semi-dedicated server accounts and in addition to the normal features such as renaming, copying or deleting files, you shall be able to use right-click menus in order to access more complex ones. With several mouse clicks, you shall be able to password-protect any folder inside the account, to modify the UNIX permissions if a script-based app requires it or to modify the content of any file using plain text, code and WYSIWYG editors. Additionally, you'll no longer need an FTP program to upload new content because you can just drag-and-drop files and whole folders from your pc directly to the File Manager. The tool shall do the rest, keeping the folder structure of the content that you upload.
